The sponsorship program is a great way to have a 'virtual pet' with no day-to-day responsibilities. Come visit your dog any Saturday we are showing at Union Square or your cat during open hours at Ollie's Place. For only $20/month, you can help to change the life of one special animal. In addition to the satisfaction of sponsoring a pet, you will receive a 8''x10'' photo of your sponsored animal and his story. When the sponsored animal is adopted, you will receive a family photo.
The average stay of an animal in our no-kill adoption center 10-12 months. Some animals require even more time because they must first be rehabilitated after previous abuse. It takes a great deal of money to care for these animals and your sponsorship of one animal makes it easier for us to care for them. HOW FAR DOES MY $20/MONTH GO?
Each one of our animals is fed twice daily ($1.50). They are all fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and fully examined by a veterinarian the moment they are rescued. Doing the math, the yearly maintenance of one dog/cat is approximately: * Feeding and housing: ($1.50/day x 365 days/year): $550 * Average veterinary cost: $300 * Our yearly cost: $850 Your generous sponsorship donation of $20 per month ($240 per year) will defray about 28% of the total cost of keeping an animal or almost half the cost of feeding them! |
