Here at Mighty Mutts, we truly believe that our pets are our family. Many of us have experienced the loss of a beloved dog or cat, and understand how difficult it can be. With our weekly adoption drives at Union Square, our volunteers speak to many people who express their sadness over a recently deceased pet. For some, meeting our adoptable dogs can be therapeutic - for others, is can be a sad moment.
April Lang is a psychotherapist in private practice in New York City. In addition to her regular therapy practice, she specializes in animal bereavement and couples therapy.
